I got out to the Garter Snake Den a few days ago to see the garters before they all disperse for the summer.  There weren't too many out, but I got a couple pictures of some good groups with my new camera, which sure takes better closeups	Here is a nice red garter cruising through the undergrowth.	Here is the actual den.  It is just a network of loose concrete slabs that run next to a canal tunnel under the road	Here is a nice pile.  There are 2 subspecies here, but they seem to keep to their own	Here is my garter snake roundup pardner.  He caught this guy easily.
