2008 Trip to the Singapore Zoo

Wild herps encountered on the grounds of the singapore zoo in order of appearance
First wild herp I saw was this skink	The next herp was this dragon	Walking through the tropical garden I next spotted a couple of black spitting cobras, although they retreated quickly	I found this clouded monitor, who retreated up a tree and allowed me to find the next herp	The clouded monitor scared this flying lizard, who quickly glided to another tree
After landing, the first lizard got this territorial male to display and claim his territory	Check out the cool yellow dewlap and the bright blue head on this one	This clouded monitor took off after I spotted him and I chased him down at full speed	He was a bit tired out after the chase, and I even got to hold him a bit, despite the tail whips	Another smaller clouded monitor.  I saw 6 or 7 in all.  Some cool lifers on this trip.

Reptiles on display at the zoo: While the herp collection wasn't the best I have seen, all of the animals were in great enclosures and looked healthy and happy.  I don't think I have been to a cooler zoo than this one.  They did have some cool stuff that I hadn't seen before, most notably the fierce snakes and a nice northern carpet on display.
